Fanfare for the Common Man is one of the many exhibitions we have promoted for the Art Gallery of Ballarat. The exhibition of realist works by Robert Clinch was a tribute to one of Australia's most significant contemporary artists.
Clinch’s meticulously detailed paintings invite comparison with American Realist painters like Grant Wood and Andrew Wyeth. People who like the work of Jeffrey Smart will also find echoes of his work in these evocative urban landscapes.
Imagine our delight when we received this letter from Robert Clinch:
Many, many thanks for your efforts in bringing my exhibition and my work to the attention of a much broader audience. The feedback I have had from both acquaintances and total strangers has been remarkable and, at times, moving. You've both been most pleasant and professional to deal with.
Best wishes, Robert Clinch.
We thank Robert and the many others who let us know how much they have appreciated our work.
